March 11th, 2013neighborhood watch: Jellyfish!
October 26th, 2012Have you noticed the schools of Jellyfish closing in on you? We have and we LOVE them! A couple weekends ago we were in Bushwick when we first noticed them. Now we see them popping up all over the city. We love the simplicity of the organic drips and the color pallets. On a gloomy street, they brighten your walk!

December 20th, 2011neighborhood watch: kim beck
October 10th, 2011Did anyone see this in the sky yesterday around 6pm? I watched the letter’s unfold as I biked home and kept thinking this is a really bad advertisement. After doing a bit of research I discovered it’s part of the artist Kim Beck‘s “The Sky is the Limit/NYC” project. Three phrases were written in the sky over Manhattan ‘Lost Our Lease’ ‘Last Chance’ and ‘Now Open’.

October 2nd, 2011neighborhood watch: flaming cactus
September 22nd, 2011We just love these “flaming cactus” instillation’s in Astor place. They were created by the Animus Art Collective and commissioned by the city for the Department of Transportation’s Summer Street. Such a simple idea wrapping Plastic Neon cable ties around lamp posts!
